An unsweetened, caffeine-free tea brewed from wild-foraged Shagbark Hickory bark. Quiet vanilla aromatics meet a rich, woody flavor and a gently tannic finish—smooth, earthy and reminiscent of the forest. Some say it reminds them of toasted marshmallows. We think of a warm campfire on a dewy morning.
Enjoy it chilled over ice or gently warmed. Pour a glass alongside aged cheese, dark chocolate or a generous meal; or settle in with it when the day begins to slow.
At the heart of this tea is the Shagbark Hickory, one of few trees to naturally shed its bark. We gather the fallen bark on our 22-acre family farm in Long Valley, New Jersey, roast it to draw out its warm aromatics, and brew it into a tea.
Hickory bark tea is rooted in Native traditions and has been cherished for centuries.
With just water and hickory bark, the flavor of the tree takes center stage: quiet vanilla on the nose, toasted wood on the palate, and tannins that give each sip structure. The sweet aromatics come from the bark itself; we add no sugar.
Serve it with steak, aged cheese, creamy sauces or even salty potato chips. Its woody character and gently drying finish make it an unexpected companion at the table—and a thoughtful alternative to an evening glass of wine or cocktail.
