Our exclusive Black Label Bourbon-Infused Hickory Syrup is an invitation to slow down. Inside every bottle rests a piece of wild-foraged, artisan-roasted Shagbark Hickory bark we shamelessly infused with bourbon. As it ages, the bark continually deepens the syrup’s warm notes of toffee and vanilla with rich undertones of oak, dark forest berries and a gentle, spirited finish.
An exceptional pairing for whiskey cocktails, bold spice rubs, aged cheddars and slow weekend mornings.
Our bourbon-infused hickory syrup begins the same as our Shagbark Hickory syrup: We gather naturally fallen bark from our farm, slowly roast it to draw out aromas of vanilla, toffee, malt and toasted wood, brew it into a robust tea, and sweeten the tea with organic cane sugar to create a delicately sweet botanical syrup.
Then, our signature Black Label bottle-aging process takes it to the next level: We hand cut roasted bark into individual staves, infuse them with our favorite premium bourbon, and gently place one into each bottle by hand. It's our take on reverse barrel aging: instead of sending the syrup into a barrel, we bring the bourbon-infused wood to the syrup. There, the two work in harmony, gradually building depth and complexity that only gets better with time.
