Black Label begins the same as our Shagbark Hickory Tea. We gather naturally fallen bark on our 22-acre family farm in Long Valley, New Jersey, roast it to draw out its warm aromatics, and brew it into an unsweetened tea.
Then, our signature Black Label bottle-aging process takes it one step further. We hand cut roasted bark into individual staves, infuse them with premium bourbon, and gently place one into each bottle by hand.
It's our take on reverse barrel aging: instead of sending the tea into a barrel, we bring the bourbon-infused wood to the tea. There, the two work in harmony, lending deeper woody notes and a gentle, spirited finish to the flavor already held within the hickory.
The result is a non-alcoholic sipping experience with a character all its own—refreshingly smooth, layered and made to linger over.
