what we do

We turn overlooked botanicals into extraordinary food.

At Arbor + Field, we're rediscovering overlooked native plants and botanicals, and reimagining them into food that feels at home at every table. We make food that tells a story. Food that reminds us to slow down, look a little closer, and savor the good that's right in front of us.

who we are

A first-generation farm with a bigger purpose.

We're Jarred and Ann Bush, first-generation farmers and the founders of Arbor + Field. When we signed the papers on our 22-acre farm in Long Valley, NJ on September 14, 2016, we had a much different plan for this place. But over a decade of learning and discovery opened our eyes to how much more this land has to offer when we choose to work with it, not against it.

We're not traditional farmers, credentialed foresters, or classically trained chefs. We're two ordinary people learning every day how to do more with the resources around us. We do it with our three children—Julia, Lilly and Benjamin—right at our side. We believe participation is more important than perfection, and we're building this place so others feel inspired to discover, make and learn alongside us.

The Tree That Started It All

Our Inspiration

The Tree That Started It All

For years, the Shagbark Hickory trees growing across our farm were simply part of the landscape. Then one ordinary moment made us curious enough to look closer. That curiosity became our first collection at Arbor + Field and it changed the way we look at everything else growing around us. Learn more about this incredible tree and its deep roots in Native food and medicine.
